The German Institute of Arbitration (DIS) e.V. is the leading point of contact in Germany for matters relating to arbitration and alternative dispute resolution for national and international commercial disputes.
As a registered association, the DIS is independent and accountable only to its more than 1,600 members, which include all key players in the field of arbitration in Germany.
Over more than 100 years, the DIS has built up extensive expertise in the administration of arbitration proceedings and other alternative dispute resolution procedures.
Year after year, approximately 180 active proceedings are initiated under the DIS rules, with an upward trend; last year, there were 218 proceedings. This makes the DIS by far the largest institution for the administration of alternative dispute resolution proceedings in Germany and one of the leading institutions in Europe.
