Lexcel

Lexcel is the AI operating system for RWI and W&I underwriting, running specialty insurance workflows from submission to claims with underwriters and brokers on live M&A deal materials.

AI operating system for RWI (US) and W&I (Europe/international) and broader transactional liability insurance. Lexcel embeds with underwriters and brokers to run agentic workflows from submission through quote, underwriting, bind, and claims: playbook-based purchase agreement and warranty review, NBIL / indication support, exclusion and memo drafting, and claims coverage analysis. Built for specialty insurance teams on live deal materials, with citations, verification, and underwriter final say. Not generic legal AI and not model training on client books.

Lexcel (LXCL Inc.) builds the operating system for specialty insurance, with transactional liability / RWI / W&I as the flagship line. In the M&A process, that is the insurance layer that sits alongside legal and financial diligence: underwriters and brokers review the same SPA/APA, disclosure schedules, and diligence packs, then quote and bind RWI/W&I and handle post-close claims. Lexcel pairs domain-built agentic AI with a forward-deployed team that designs workflows on each desk's own materials and playbooks and wires integrations into tools the team already uses. Security posture includes SOC 2 Type II. Client data is not used to train foundation models.

Key Features

  • Matter-centric underwriting workbench for each RWI/W&I submission or claim

  • email-driven intake and structured deal fields with source trail

  • submission overview and NBIL / indication drafting

  • playbook-based purchase agreement, SPA, and warranty (rep) review with exclusion support

  • cited underwriting memos

  • multi-step verification of extracted findings against source materials

  • claims coverage letter drafting from policy, underwriting file, and deal record

  • sync with systems of record and document systems (e.g. Salesforce, SharePoint, Box)

  • firm-owned institutional memory across historical RWI/W&I placements and claims

AI Capabilities

Multi-agent (agentic) workflows on an underwriting workbench: extract and verify fields against cited SPA/APA, diligence, and submission materials; run playbook warranty/rep reviews; draft NBILs, overviews, and RWI/W&I claims coverage letters. Models are interchangeable by client preference. Client deal materials are not used to train foundation models (zero data retention with model providers). Underwriter keeps final say before bind or outbound.

Integrations

Salesforce; SharePoint; Box. Work product commonly produced as Word and Excel outputs. Additional DMS / VDR connections (including Datasite-class paths) available by engagement.

What sets it apart

  1. Purpose-built for RWI (US) and W&I (Europe/international) and transactional liability: agentic underwriting workbench from submission to claims, used with underwriters and brokers on live M&A deal files

  2. Forward-deployed delivery: workflows and integrations designed with the desk on their own playbooks and systems (e.g. Salesforce, SharePoint), not shelf software the buyer finishes alone

  3. Compounding institutional memory on the firm's historical book, with citations, verification, and underwriter final say; SOC 2 Type II; underwriters report quoting review moving from multi-hour review toward about 30 minutes on live work
